Follow Friday – Ninth Month Blog Challenge Part Two

Last week I wrote part one of this Follow Friday post explaining that I was participating in That’s So Jacob’s Ninth Month Blog Challenge after being nominated by Tikeetha T., the blogger over at A Thomas Point of View.

I know today is Saturday and by the very name of this post Follow Friday – Ninth Month Blog Challenge Part Two it is supposed to be posted on a Friday.  Some weeks I would just wait to the following Friday but since this post is combined with a September challenge well that wouldn’t work very well since next Friday we will be into October already.

I’m chalking it up to a very hectic week and  an aggravating Friday.  P-Dubs tried to convince me to invoke the seldom used it’s still Friday in Hawaii provision, which would allow me to add six more hours to my blogging day and post as if it was Friday.  I thought about it while walking along the sandy beach for hours.  But by the time I washed all the salt and sand from my hair, I was too exhausted to think never mind string intelligible sentences into semi-comprehensible paragraphs.  Read by the time I was done aimlessly surfing the internet and staring blankly into space with P-Dubs, I couldn’t type my blog’s name never mind someone else’s.  P-Dubs and I convinced ourselves we would wake up before the clubs got hopping in Honolulu but when the alarm went off at 10:30 p.m. Hawaiian Standard Time (4:30 a.m. Eastern Standard Time) there was no moving me.

Since last week I highlighted four blogs, this week’s Follow Friday post features five blogs that I never commented on prior to this week and the Nine Month Challenge.  Five amazing blogs I think you should follow this Follow Friday:

NaNo prep is really too hard

My Comment:

I love this; of course I am procrastinating sketching out the remainder of a post I am hoping to finish tomorrow. I literally was just thinking I should start writing offline because I get distracted and next thing you know I’m on a handful of websites that aren’t research for the post I’m writing.

Why starting a blog is like starting an affair

My Comment:

I love your voice, you are witty and maybe a tad bit irreverent in a comically genius sort of way. I look forward to reading more of your journey towards motherhood.  I think your blog entries could be developed into a book – apparently a tell all book.  The question is if that were to happen and your anonymity gets thrown out the window will you blog about the next conversation with the boy that you start with “we need to talk.”

Crockpot Chicken

My Comment:

Ha ha. I’m not the only one who saw crackpot chicken. I actually looked twice and smiled. Was wondering what you were up to. Looks delicious. I’m definitely going to try. Hope Deb enjoyed it.

Why Every Teacher Should Pay Union Dues

My Comment:

Thanks for visiting my blog; which led me to your blog as I try as much as possible to reciprocate.  I was pulled in by one of your Friday posts but was interested in so many of your other topics – the Republican presidential field, teachers unions, etc..  I hope you keep on posting and would love to read your views on charter schools and the assault on public education and consequently public school teachers and students.

My Comment:

Apparently we have both spent a good part of our Saturday procrastinating.  I’ve been trying to finish a Follow Friday (yes Friday post) off and on all day.  I need to get organized to help keep my procrastinating tendencies at bay.  When picking out blogs to feature in my Follow Friday post there is a fine line between carefully picking out the blogs I want to feature and wiling away the hours.  Conclusion 3 really resonates with me – why am I stressing out about my selections when if I “get it wrong” I get to try again next week (hopefully on Friday this time).  I will be hitting the publish button momentarily.  Enjoy the rest of your Saturday.

Bloggers mentioned in this post should feel free to join in on the merriment of That’s So Jacob’s Ninth Month Blog Challenge.   If you choose to accept this challenge leave a comment on my blog and eight other amazing blogs and let them know your comment is as a result of the aforementioned challenge.  If you want out of this challenge do nothing, just carry on.  If you want to challenge only two other blogs because September is all but over, go for it.  If you weren’t mentioned in this post and want to join in, I hereby challenge you.

Until next Friday.

  1. Congratulations on your post and thanks for the shout out! Although now I am tempted to use the “It’s still __(enter time)__ in Hawaii” provision. Hmm. I’d use it now but I’m too busy procrastinating…
