#WeekendCoffeeShare – October 16, 2016

coffee share

If you and I were having coffee right now … I would acknowledge that it appears at least so far in 2016 my weekend coffee share posts have settled into a when the spirit moves me kind of schedule that just so happens to occur about quarterly.

If you and I were having coffee right now … I would ask you to catch me up on what has been happening in your world.  It has after all over been three months since we last caught up over coffee.

If you and I were having coffee right now … I would apologize that our beverages have gotten cold.  I started this post a month ago, so let me freshen your cup.  The weekend of September 16th started off with my other half complaining about neck pain.  A massage and heating pad did nothing … he went to work and the pain went away.  However, on that Sunday, he woke up with severe neck pain which he says brought him to his knees.  It brought us to the emergency room where I was positive they would say he wrenched his neck from working all day chopping in a kitchen and coming home and sitting in front of a computer for hours.  I knew his pain was intense because tears were streaming down his cheeks.  Never did I expect the doctor to come in and say they had determined my other half had two minor heart attacks – the first one on Friday he handled, the second one not so much.  He had a blockage in an artery – they put a stent in, he spent a week in the hospital and seems to be embracing the diet and lifestyle changes he needs to make.

If you and I were having coffee right now … I would tell you how the political campaign I was managing monopolized all my time, creativity and energy since April.  As part of my role as campaign manager, I had to manage a staff of 12 – 15 high school and college students over the summer.  If you click on the picture below you will get a glimpse of my summer that included listening to the soundtrack of Hamilton repetitively, canvassing, organizing volunteers, managing student interns, lots and lots of pizza, and getting out the vote in one small district in Massachusetts.

If you and I were having coffee right now … I would tell you that my team and candidate rocked.  Not only did we deliver a landslide of a victory – defeating her challenger by a 90% – 10% margin, but we also had higher voter turnout in our precincts than in other precincts in the same city.

imageIf you and I were having coffee right now … I would tell you how I am in the midst of turning my extra room that my nephew had been staying in back into a home office.  I haven’t had my writing space in nearly two years and I am emptying out the room and setting it up corner by corner.  It is taking me much longer than I anticipated but I am plugging away at it.

If you and I were having coffee right now … I would tell you that this post is part of the Weekend Coffee Share at Part Time Monster.

Well, I should get going.  Before you leave, please tell me in the comments what you would share with me …

If you and I were having coffee right now …
