About

I’m a writer who doesn’t write. My life is a case study in procrastination. I am a work-in-progress.  I’m the favorite aunt, a Citizen Teacher, a kick-ass baker, and a political junkie who earns a living in commercial real estate. My musings run the gamut from social commentary, the Red Sox, Boston, New England, #CRE, the state of education in our country and anything else that flies across my radar.  I make no apologies for my wicked Boston accent, my love of Massachusetts’ politics or that I’ve been known to praise Jesus not only from the pew of my local church but also from the bleachers at Fenway and court side at The Garden.

Oftentimes I am even surprised where my musings lead. To find out what’s next and join in on the dialogue check back here on WordPress and join me on social media.

Wanted to leave a comment over on your 9/22 Writing 101 post but couldn’t find a place to do it. That was a lovely piece of writing and a touching story. Really nice. I’m here because of A Momma’s View post that recommended you after she said hi to her neighbors. Glad to be a neighbor, too! Looking forward to reading more.

  7. Ha Ha – you made me smile! I related to that ‘writer who doesn’t write’ refrain! It is so easy to get distracted and then feel bad about not writing … maybe we can all keep an eye on each other and make sure we get some done during blogging 101 and beyond..

    1. I think the sense of community may be helpful if we can capture it beyond the end of blogging 101 workshop.

I like the way’s you’ve worded it, he he. I am like you, a writer who doesn’t write. I have started a book a few months ago, but I tend to write just for my blog nowadays (at least I don’t procrastinate as such!). I follow you now, so feel invited to follow me back!

A little while ago I’ve nominated you for the One Lovely Blog Award. Apparently something went wrong with my notification to some of my nominees. I am not sure anymore if you got the notification or not. Here is my post again in case you didn’t: http://amommasview.wordpress.com/2014/09/29/one-lovely-blog-award/

  16. So, for some reason I never “officially” followed you. Guess because I kind of got into the habit of checking your blog every couple of days. How crazy is that, but interesting that I’ve become the 911th person to follow you. I know, without a doubt you’ll make your goal of 1,000 followers by the end of the year! So nice to see that 910 other people think that you are pretty awesome too. Oh, by the way, I’m still waiting on that apple pie recipe post!

    1. You were following me, because at one point you received emails when I posted. You must’ve un-followed me by accident. Welcome back! Apple pie that would be interesting because I’ve never baked a traditional apple pie. I will add it to my list – I do have an apple pie story.

Thank you for the shout out on your blog. I write because I love it. I post because I’ve been encouraged to do so by friends and family. Honestly, I’m new to the blogosphere. If you ever think you’d like to do a theme-driven guest post drive based on a Halloween or spooky theme, I would love to participate.

    1. I am in the blogosphere because my best friend dared me to because she feels I have a book in me. Email me at lpbrown@ymail.com and we can discuss details. I think it’s a great idea.

Know what I liked best about your About? Praising Jesus. Writers so seldom mention Him. Lots of talking about God (that can be pretty generic) but not many identify with Jesus, who is the one through whom we know God. Well, off my sermon. And onto how I found you. You liked my Grammy Got Flangipropped. Good and thank you. Come over again. I’m hunting your follow button. See you often hopefully.

We are kindred spirits. I’m a textbook procrastinator and often introduce myself as a “writer who doesn’t write.” Seriously –those very words! My blog is supposed to be an antidote. It works sometimes….
